Slovak National Team and Player Rankings in NHL 24 Hockey Game: Authentic Lineups, Locked Players, and Unrealistic Evaluations

A new version of the popular NHL game was released again, this time with the additional number 24. Unlike the soccer counterpart, in the hockey game we can find the Slovak national team, that is, three straight away. We took a look at how they look.

Football fans are waiting in vain for the Slovak national team to be in the most popular game. The hockey players had a different expectation, for many years they asked to add the official jerseys of the national teams to the game, and not just some made-up ones.

They came a few years ago thanks to the cooperation of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) with the game publisher EA Sports. They also added senior, women’s and junior hockey world championship modes to the game.

Slovakia currently has three national teams in the game. The classic one, which has always been in the game and in which we can find sets that are quite far from reality. We have already gotten used to the fact that there are also players who have not worn the jersey with the double cross on the chest for a long time and the team is composed randomly. This time, however, EA Sports had an unpleasant surprise, in the third defense we find striker Matúš Sukeľ.

However, the positive thing is that the lineups in the Hockey World Cup and U20 Hockey World Cup modes are really authentic. Here too we find one but. For some unknown reason, teams and players are locked in these modes.

What would it look like if we won the WC in hockey?

You can only edit lineups directly before the game and you cannot move players in teams. You cannot, for example, put Tomáš Tatar or Juraj Slafkovský in the Slovak national team in the hockey World Cup mode.

It is also incomprehensible why players from these teams are not available anywhere else. For example, Adam Sýkora is in the junior national team, but he is still missing from the Hartford team in the AHL. However, you cannot add him there, even if he is already in the game, because he is locked in the junior team.

The next chapter is player evaluations, which are quite far from reality in all teams except the NHL. According to the game, for example, the Slovak national team at the U20 World Cup has better defense and goalkeepers than at the senior championships.
