There are already several quality players and leaders in the team, led by Peter Cehlárik and Marek Hrivík. Assistant coach Peter Frühauf spoke about possible reinforcements not only from overseas, but also from Europe at yesterday’s meeting.

“Some players are injured, such as Patrik Hrehorčák, who is out for the season. We also know of others who, for various reasons, cannot participate in this camp, but no one refused to participate.” introduced Frühauf.

In the NHL or AHL, the basic parts haven’t finished yet, so he couldn’t be very specific about overseas. “We are working with different versions. We have boys there who are currently injured and some of them we are waiting for the results of the exit tests. But I won’t reveal any names, we don’t have anyone confirmed at the moment.”

However, we asked about a few players who are certain that their season will end and they will not advance to the playoffs. Washington Capitals p Martin Fehérváry they won’t look at the elimination fights, what is his situation?

“We are in close contact with him. He has certain health problems and we are going day by day, he also has exit tests and all the procedures ahead of him, then we will be smarter.”

He should have been one of the sure reinforcements Pavol Regenda, but he recently suffered a nasty hit in a match, after which he fell to the ground. He is thus still under observation and must follow the protocol that follows similar blows to the head.

“According to the first information, it might not be that serious, but with a concussion we have to wait a few more days,” Frühauf revealed on Monday. Head coach Craig Ramsay also gave positive news at Tuesday’s training. “Regenda was injured, but he said he’s fine now.”

Another NHL player who will definitely not appear in the playoffs is Adam Ružička. His Calgary Flames lost their hopes of promotion just last night. “It would be great if he joins the team. Miroslav Šatan will talk to him, but we have not been in contact with him yet.Ramsay said.

Hockey players from the AHL or junior competitions are also in the game. Adam Sýkora played the entire year for Nitra, but after the end of the season he joined the New York Rangers farm, where he has not played a single match yet.

“We are mapping his situation and he is definitely in our sights. We’ll see how it goes. Every morning, together with the team, we update the information about the players and discuss them.” However, according to Sýkor’s recent statement, they should release him to the national team, despite the fact that they advanced to the playoffs in the AHL.

What is the situation with players from junior competitions? “We expected Filip Mešár and I that he would be available, but surprisingly they managed the first round of the playoffs. But there are other hockey players who have already finished, for example Samuel Honzek or Servác Petrovský, who are also in the wider search field.

We don’t count on them for this meeting, but we’ll see how the situation develops in the Czech or Slovak leagues as well. Whether the players will be healthy and in what form they will be. But these younger guys are definitely on our lists.”

In the Slovak league, one name started to resonate in the playoffs – Martin Réway. Does the hockey player of Spišská Nová Ves have a chance to make the national team again? “We’re watching everyone, but I can’t say right now that we’re not thinking about him, and I can’t say that we’re thinking about him. He still has a season, we see that he plays for a while and doesn’t play for a while, we don’t know what his health is, we don’t know basically anything.

We need that series to end and then we’ll see how it will all be set up here, who will jump out for us more or less in the preliminaries. Everything will be solved.”

Richard Pánik is also training with the national team, but he is not in the nomination. “We are currently leaving him out of the nomination, as the process related to his contract in the NHL is ongoing. We will wait to see how it turns out, and if it turns out well, we are ready to contact him for nomination at the next meeting.” povedal early rise.

Craig Ramsay revealed that the Panic situation could be resolved as early as next week. “It would be great to have him in the team. He wants to play, he has a good attitude, and that’s the most important thing.”

The head coach also praised the high training pace and commitment of the players and commented on other possible reinforcements from overseas. “The majority said they wanted to come, but there are a lot of things going on in the NHL and AHL, we’ll see how everything develops. But we have a good chance to get several hockey players.” Craig Ramsay’s men have friendly matches against Switzerland on Friday and Saturday. The WC in hockey begins on May 12.
