The Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH) concluded a new cooperation with Tipos. He signed a contract with the main extraliga partner for two years. TV broadcasts from the highest competition will be broadcast by the new partner JOJ Šport, betting rights remained with Tipsport.

The president of the association, Miroslav Šatan, believes that Slovak hockey will go in the right direction thanks to these agreements:
“The negotiations took a long time, you know the situation was not easy. But today we can announce that Tipos will be a partner of the extra league for the next two years.
JOJ Šport is a new media partner, it will broadcast all hockey. I am very glad that we have found an agreement, as there were all kinds of scenarios. In the next two years, we will go with this lineup.”

Marketing will be under the umbrella of SZĽH, sports and technical matters will be in charge of the League Council.
“There will be two representatives of SZľH and one from the extra league in the league council. I’m glad that we sat down together and resolved things.
All 12 clubs met the conditions, we signed a marketing contract together. I believe that the extra league will function as it should,” said SZĽH general secretary Miroslav Lažo.
Even the head of Tipos perceives the agreement positively. “It’s nothing new for Tipos, we’re continuing the supercharged trend for the next two years. We perceive cooperation with SZĽH positively and we want to continue to support hockey,” said Oliver Felszeghy.
Spectators will be able to watch broadcasts on the JOJ Šport station, which broadcast matches of the second highest competition last season.

“We have experience in broadcasting the SHL. During this year, we will also broadcast the representative matches of the U20 and in May the men’s WC. The schedule will be published shortly.
On Friday, we start with the match Košice – Humenné, that is, a match between a master and a newcomer, on Sunday the match Zvolen – Michalovce. We will present the next rounds when we have a confirmed schedule with the clubs. It should be known by Wednesday,” said station director Roman Neuschl.
He also commented on a possible sublicense with other broadcasters: “It will be concluded in the next few days. The timetable is not ready yet, the negotiations have dragged on, but the owner of the sublicense will be known in the next few days.”
At the end, Šatan revealed other partners who will support Slovak hockey. Among them, a new one:
“Tipsport will have betting rights, Škoda continues to cooperate with us as well. We also have one new partner for the extra league, which is Kaufland. We are very happy about that. In cooperation with the union, the clubs will have more funds than before.”
