Slovak Ice Hockey Association excludes Adam Ružiček from upcoming matches due to controversial video

The Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH) does not count on forward Adam Ružiček in the upcoming preparatory matches and at the World Cup 2024 in the Czech Republic. This is a reaction to Ružiček’s recent video with white powder that appeared on social networks.

“The Slovak Ice Hockey Association condemns the behavior of Adam Ružička, which is not in line with the values of the representative, and therefore we do not count on him in the nomination for the preliminary matches and the World Championships in May.” stated SZľH in its opinion.

Ružiček’s Arizona Coyotes club also reacted to the video, which first placed him on the unconditional waiver list and then terminated his contract.

Ružička represented the Slovak Republic at the 18- and 20-year-old WC. In the men’s national team, he has played three matches in the Olympic qualification in the summer of 2021.
