Slovak Hockey Player Adam Ružička Scores First Goal in NHL Preseason

Slovak hockey player Adam Ružička scored his first goal in preparation for the new NHL season. On Tuesday night, he played a role in Calgary’s 5-4 home victory over Winnipeg with an accurate shot.

Two other Slovaks who intervened in the game also scored, Juraj Slafkovský in the jersey of Montreal and Šimon Nemec from New Jersey both scored an assist.

Ružička reduced the score to 2:3 from the Flames point of view in the second period. The 24-year-old attacker received a pass in front of the goal, chose a handle instead of a shot and coolly slotted the puck behind the opponent’s goalkeeper with a backhand. Watch the Slovakian’s goal:

The home team finally managed to turn the score of the match, in which they were losing 0:2 and 1:3, the winning goal was scored by Matt Coronato, who also added two assists. Ružička recorded during 13:45 min. in addition to the goal, two pluses and three shots. After four preliminary meetings, he has four Canadian points.

Slafkovský contributed to Montreal’s 5-4 overtime win over Toronto when he assisted defenseman Johnny Kovacevic’s goal in the third period.

It was his second point in the fourth preseason game. He played 13:39 minutes against the Maple Leafs, adding a plus point. In overtime, Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki decided the victory.

The German also scored, helping New Jersey’s triumph over the New York Islanders 6:5 with an assist. In the second period, the Slovak defender was involved in an exemplary combination, which culminated in a goal by Jack Hughes.

During 18:18 min. presented himself with two shots, finished the duel with a minus. The German scored in each of the three warm-up matches (1+2). His teammate Jesper Bratt shone with a hat trick, to which he added an assist.

Slovak hockey players Patrik Koch and Miloš Kelemen ended up in the training camp of the NHL team Arizona Coyotes. The management of the “Coyotes” sent them to the farm team Tucson Roadrunners, and both will probably start the season in the lower overseas competition of the AHL. On Monday, the Coyotes removed 18 names from the camp roster, including both Slovak representatives. Kelemen played three matches during the preparation, in which he scored one goal. Koch did not score in two games for Arizona.
