The management of the NHL club Los Angeles Kings called Slovak hockey goalkeeper Dávid Hrenák to the first team. This was reported by the sportsforecaster.com portal.

Hrenák will get a chance to train with the Los Angeles players, who have a 1st round playoff series against Edmonton. The 24-year-old Slovak should not intervene in the game. He’ll be ready to step in if one of the Kings’ regular goaltenders gets injured.

According to The Mayor, Erik Portillo was originally supposed to fill this position, but finally the Kings gave Hrenák a chance. Before the playoffs, the “Kings” are betting on the duo of Pheonix Copley and Joonas Korpisalo, who joined the California team before the trade deadline from Columbus.

Hrenák, who played three games in the AHL last year after the end of his university career, played the entire current year in the lower ECHL overseas competition. He made 43 appearances for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, posting a 90.6 percent save percentage and averaging 2.82 goals conceded per game. The Kings drafted him 144th overall in 2018.
