Slovak football representative Matúš Bero will continue his career in the Bundesliga. He agreed to cooperate with the German club VfL Bochum 1848. TASR was informed about this by his agency Stars&Friends.
The 27-year-old midfielder ended his cooperation with the Dutch Vitesse Arnhem in June, where he had been working since the 2018/2019 season. He played 172 games for the Dutch club, in which he scored 27 goals and added 20 assists. In the last year of his time in the Netherlands, he was the captain of the team.
“It’s been five wonderful years with Vitesse, but it’s time to move on for me as well as for the club. I’m looking forward to a new challenge. It’s an honor for me to be a part of Bochum. I really appreciate this opportunity and I’ll do my best to to perform at my best.”
The football player’s agent Karol Csontó stated that the priority for Ber was to work in Germany or England. “The logical outcome of Matúš’s very good performances in Vitesse was to go further and get higher. Offers came from several markets, finally a decision was made for a German club with which we signed a contract for 3 years. Matúš passed medical tests and will join as soon as possible to Bochum.”
