Slovak Defense Minister Calls for Return of Combat-Ready Ukrainians, Opposes NATO Troops in Ukraine

Those who support Kyiv should think about returning combat-ready Ukrainians to their homeland, and not think about sending NATO soldiers. This was announced today, March 11, by Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak.

“Nothing would help the Ukrainian army more than the return of combat-ready Ukrainians. The militant opposition is using the war and suffering in Ukraine for a miserable political struggle. Instead of looking at the war realistically, they are constantly shouting about weapons and further escalation of the conflict. But sending troops from NATO member states to Ukraine is a rough red line, crossing which would significantly increase the risk of global conflict. If our warmongers seriously thought about supporting Ukraine and defeat Russiathey would shout about making it possible for combat-ready Ukrainians to return to their homeland,” he wrote on his page on the social network.

In his opinion, the time has come to look for a way to establish peace in Ukraine.

“Only by immediately stopping the fighting will we be able to resist further bloodshed and restore the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Kalynyak added.

Let us remind you that Slovakia stands for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and is against sending NATO troops to this country, which has recently become increasingly talked about in the West. Formerly Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that the appearance of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory would entail a threat to security in the region.
