Slovak Biathlete Paulína Bátovská Fialková Welcomes Daughter Romana, Interrupts Sports Career for Motherhood

Slovak biathlete Paulína Bátovská Fialková became a mother. On Christmas Day, she gave birth to a daughter whom she and her husband Miloš Bátovský named Romana. She informed about it on the social network.

“Romana, December 24, 2023, our Christmas miracle,” wrote Bátovská Fialková on Instagram.

The former Slovak biathlon team already announced in the summer that she was interrupting her sports career due to motherhood. Bátovská Fialková is a three-time Olympic participant, she started in Sochi 2014, Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022. Her best individual Olympic result is fifth place in the 15 km endurance race in Pyeongchang. She also finished fifth in the endurance race at the 2019 WC in Östersund. At the European Championship 2016 in Tyumen, she won silver in the race with a mass start, she also won the same medal in the mixed relay. In World Cup races, she placed in the top three eight times, finishing second four times.
