Another sad news hit the art world, this time it came from Slovakia. Ivan Letko, the acting legeśvíčekanda and pedagogue, died at the age of 89.
The sad news was published by the Drama Club Bratislava via social networks. “It is with deep sadness that we received the news today that our patron and regular visitor to our performances, Ivan Letko, has left us forever. He was not only a theater, television, dubbing and radio actor, but also a long-time teacher of acting at the conservatory and university, who raised a number of successful and well-known actors,” announced the Drama Club.
The popular Slovak actor breathed his last on Sunday afternoon in a Bratislava hospital, he wrote web pluska.sk
“I was cast in beautiful big roles in the theater and on television, but the role of an old man in the series Stormy Wine brought me the greatest fame. People came up to me and wanted to take pictures, I had never experienced that before,” revealed Ivan Letko in an interview with the Plus 7 weekly days.
“The Drama Club sends its heartfelt condolences to the family and bereaved. Ivan, you will be sorely missed,” the club added.
Ivan Letko worked in theater, film, dubbing and television. In addition to his acting career, he was a teacher at the Department of Acting and Directing at the Bratislava University of Performing Arts for over 30 years. He was married twice, had two daughters.
