Slob wants millions for teachers: disadvantaged neighborhoods are rewarded Interior

Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague recently presented emergency plans for the acute shortage of teachers. Utrecht and Almere will follow soon.

Minister Slob said on Wednesday during a major debate about the teacher shortage in the House of Representatives that he knows that these plans also have a price tag. He estimates that this amounts to 100 million euros. He does not have this money on the shelf, but he promises that he will do something for it.

The extra money goes to various things, such as a supplement for teachers in schools in disadvantaged neighborhoods in Amsterdam. It can also be put into extra guidance from starting teachers, and additional educational support staff.
