The emergency services responded on Sunday morning to reports of a road accident at Momyr in Åfjord on the Fosenhalvøya in Trøndelag.
The message was that a car had ended up in a river, but that the people involved should have got out and sought help.
– There were two people, a man and a woman aged 18, and they were probably cold and died after they ended up in the river and walked a short kilometer to get help, says operations manager Kirsten Bergstrøm at the Trøndelag police district to Nettavisen.
She says that it was a neighbor who called the emergency services, and that both were taken to St. John’s hospital. Olav in an air ambulance for examination.
The watchman who arrived at the scene says that there was snow on the road.
