The number of new cases of covid-19 continues to decline in Lyon and in the Rhône department. But caution, in some regions, the decline has been stopped.
Currently, there are more than ten times fewer cases in Lyon than at the peak of the last wave, at the end of January, in the department. The decline is clear and spectacular.
The circulation of the virus at time t in a territory is measured using the incidence rate. It is a key indicator. The incidence rate determines the number of positive cases over the last 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants. Over a rolling week. It is a very good way of measuring the degree of circulation of the virus, at a given moment, in a territory.
10 times fewer cases of covid-19 today than five weeks ago in Lyon
In the Rhone departmentaccording to the latest stabilized figures as of Friday March 4, the incidence rate is 346 (the data therefore takes into account the period between Saturday February 26 and Friday March 4). This rate was 4 655 peak on Friday, January 21.

Caution, however. In some regions, the number of new cases is rising slightly. Like in the northwest. The evolution of the incidence rate will be closely monitored in the coming days.
The incidence rate and the positivity rate have been rising slightly for a few days.. in departments where the start of the school year took place two weeks ago. What to think? ⤵️ #Covid19 https://t.co/oTRW3SiZGT
