Slide rule: who will be the second promoter?

Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV and SV Darmstadt 98 will determine the second direct climber today (3.30 p.m. / Sky) in the season finale of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Werder team has the best chances, three points ahead of the two pursuers in second place behind FC Schalke 04, who have already been promoted. HSV and Darmstadt only have a chance if Bremen lose. The opponents of Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga relegation are also being searched for in the final sprint.

Werder Bremen (60 points, 63:43 goals)

• rises on its own with a win or a draw in the home game against Jahn Regensburg
• also gets promoted in the event of a defeat if Hamburger SV and Darmstadt 98 don’t win their games

Hamburger SV (57 points, 64:33 goals)

• rise with a win at Hansa Rostock if Werder Bremen lose and Darmstadt 98 don’t overtake them with a win nine goals higher

SV Darmstadt 98 (57 points, 68:46 goals)

• gets promoted directly with a home win against SC Paderborn if Bremen loses and HSV either doesn’t win or Darmstadt’s victory is nine goals higher than Hamburg’s success

• if you lose if either HSV or Darmstadt win, but not both

Hamburger SV

• in the event of a win if Werder Bremen does not lose and Darmstadt 98 does not make up the goal difference, which is nine goals worse, despite a win, or if Bremen loses but Darmstadt wins nine goals more than HSV
