Developer Blue Isle Studios announced on July 28 that the survival horror game “Slender: The Arrival]will be distributed in October this year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release ofannouncementbottom. It is said that the content will be a major visual renewal with Unreal Engine 5.
Slender: The Arrival is a survival horror game about Slenderman. Slenderman is a fictitious character originating from an internet meme, and is often depicted as being tall and thin in a black suit, with a face like a blank face, and unusually long arms and tentacles. And as the ghost-photographed images and accompanying stories were created, related media works also appeared. This work was released for PC in 2013 as one of them, and was later ported to consoles and mobiles.
In this work, the player becomes the main character, Lauren, and searches for his friend Kate. Kate says she mysteriously disappeared after she became obsessed with Slenderman lore. With the flashlight left behind by Kate, the player explores dark forests, abandoned houses, and mines to find out the truth about her disappearance. And Slenderman follows the player, and you will see its appearance in various ways.
The game currently has a “very positive” status with 88% positive feedback on Steam user reviews. Also, in this announcement, it is introduced as “a work that has fascinated millions”, and it seems that it has acquired a very large number of players so far.

Combining Unreal Engine 5.2 with the latest technology, it is said that the visuals of this work will be renewed. From in-game materials to models, shadows, and the gruesome beings that appear with Slenderman, every visual will be rendered in great detail. This creates a terrifyingly immersive feeling and improves the overall gaming experience.
Slender: The Arrival’s 10th anniversary update is due out in October. The update target is a PC (Steam) version only.
