The center of road traffic East has a very clear message Sunday night:
– There is precipitation over large parts of Eastern Norway, in the form of snow, sleet and rain. Great danger of ice on the roads. Drive carefully, keep a good distance and slow down. If you don’t have to use the car, leave it alone!
No serious injuries were reported on Sunday evening, but a whole series of accidents, both in eastern Norway and in the rest of the country.
In Gjøvik, a car ended up in a ditch in Kvennomslinna. The driver had to go to the emergency room and the car suffered extensive damage, the police report of the passenger compartment.
More accidents
In Ørmen in Fredrikstad, a car went off the road, but no one was injured.
– There are difficult driving conditions, drive carefully, urged the Eastern Police District after several descents on Sunday afternoon.
According to an overview of VG there have been incidents in several locations across the country:
- In Larvik, a driver lost control and the car spun on the road onto the E18.
- In Tjøme, a car ended up on its roof due to very slippery roads.
- In Fredrikstad there have been reports of cars going off the road.
- Three cars collided in Valdres.
- In Sirdal, an ambulance went into a ditch after a two-car crash.
- On Twitter, police reported no serious injuries in any of the incidents.
Very difficult driving conditions
In Gvarv in Telemark, six people and two cars were involved in an accident. One of the cars ended up in a field, while the other remained on the road. It was blocked in both directions. Fortunately, none of the people were injured, but the cars were badly damaged, according to the Sørøst police district.
It only got worse over the course of the evening. District patrols report very difficult driving conditions. The weather is changeable and very quiet almost everywhere.
Yellow is sent dovarsel on ice and difficult driving conditions in much of Southern Norway.
