The victory in the men’s competition was shared by the Austrian Wolfgang Kindl and the German toboggan athlete Max Langenhan with the result of two races in one minute and 47,997 seconds. The leader of the season, the German Johann Ludwig, finished the winners three seconds behind the winner. The apariod was separated from the winner by 0.095 seconds.
Gints Bērziņš finished the best dozen, Artūrs Dārznieks took the 16th position, but Riks Kristens Rozītis reached the 25th place.
After the first trip Aparjods was seventh, Bērziņš finished TOP10, but Dārznieks and Rozītis took the 14th and 29th place, respectively. In the second race, Aparjods achieved the second best result.
At the end of the fourth stage of the season, Elīza Tīruma and Kristers Aparjods raced in the relay team in the Latvian team, competing with the leaders of the time, however, the fall of the two-man crew prevented him from being included in the result. The Germans won, leaving the Italian and Russian teams in the top three.
It has already been reported that the best result in the Latvian national team was achieved on Saturday 3rd place winner Bots / Plūme crew.
The World Cup season will continue with the fifth stage on December 18 and 19 at the Eggs track in Austria.
Until the second half of January, nine stages will take place in the World Cup, including the seventh stage on January 8-9 in Sigulda, where the last points in the Olympic qualification rankings will be available. The main start of the season at the Beijing Olympics will be in February 2022.
It is expected that at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Latvia will be represented by three women and one man, as well as two doubles crews.
