Slavista admitted to Stanciu that he was threatened by Spartan fans

Footballer Nicolae admitted Stanciu that after coming to Slavia last year he met with hateful reactions from some fans of rival Sparta, where he previously worked. One even verbally threatened him in the presence of his wife and brother.

The Romanian midfielder no longer has any friends at Letná and cannot praise his engagement in Eden. He succeeded Slavia in defending his title with successful spring performances and was declared the best foreigner and midfielder of the First League. He feels that he has been living for about six months.

“Sometimes it happened to me last year that I got a lot of news from angry fans. It wasn’t nice news and it wasn’t just against me because I don’t have social networks. I can understand if they say something bad against me, but if they send ugly news “It’s not normal for my wife. I can’t even publish it. Or when they send similar things to my younger brother, who is 12 years old,” he told reporters.

“Once we were out in town with my wife and my brother. A guy, probably a Spartan, came up to us and started yelling in the center: Stanciu, I’ll kill you. Everyone around was watching. Yes, it’s a big rivalry, but I think “Fans should support their team in the stands, not threaten people somewhere. I have no problem if they tell me something, but not my family, my brother. That’s not good,” added the 27-year-old Romanian midfielder.

At Letná, where he worked in 2018, he is no longer in contact with anyone. “I don’t have any friends there anymore. I only talk to (goalkeeper) Florin Nita, with whom we are in the national team. I think it was seen on Wednesday on the pitch,” Stanciu reminded him of a sharp duel with former teammates during the derby, which ended without goals .

Slavia took over the championship cup after him. Stanciu has won two league titles in Romania in the past and one in Belgium with Anderlecht.

“I rank it very high in Slavia. I probably enjoyed it the most, because it is the best group I have ever experienced. I must say that the level of the Czech league is almost the same as the Belgian one,” he compared Stanciu.

In Slavia, he initially dealt with the new style of play of the demanding coach Jindřich Trpišovský.

“When I came a year ago, I had not trained for two months before. It was very difficult for me to adapt and train as intensively as he trains in Slavia at the beginning,” Stanciu said.

“I’ve always been an offensive player, I’ve always been good at it, but the defense wasn’t that good. I changed that. Thanks to the coach, I became a more complex player. I have good numbers in one-on-one battles, the mileage is also good.” added Stanciu.

His form graduated at the end of the year after a coronavirus break, when he pulled the team to defend the title. He scored 11 assists in the season, the most in the league, and added four goals.

“We can say that it was probably my best half of the season in my career. When the competition was interrupted, I tried to train honestly every day during the quarantine. I think working with offensive teammates was better and better. I tried to understand them to know “how they move, where to give them a pass. In the second half of the season, it just improved, that’s why we created so many chances,” added Stanciu.
