“Let’s stop with the improvisations that you are laughing,” wrote on Twitter the deputy chairman of “There is such a people” Toshko Yordanov, apparently addressing the message to the DB. Because it added a breakdown of voters by demographic groups with underlined “There is such a people” and DB and fenced the following results: 18% of people with higher or semi-higher education and 16% of those with secondary voted for “There is such a people”, 18% of those who are higher / semi-higher have issued ballots for DB, and of the middle ones – 4%.
Since Monday, when data came out that the largest share of the emigrant vote is for Trifonov’s party, representatives of the “smart and beautiful” have been posting ironic posts on the social networks on the topic of “brain drain”.
In this case, Yordanov is right. In the socio-demographic profiles of Trend voters, commissioned by NOVA, the data are even more definite. Among people with higher / semi-higher education, the vote for ITN is 17.8%, and for DB – 15.7.
Another issue is that among the 300,000 voters of the DB, graduates have a larger share – 70.6% than among the 565,000 voters of the ITN (46%) – simply because the second population is larger.
In fact, here is the most characteristic of those 560 thousand Bulgarians who released ballots for Slavi Trifonov’s party (according to Trend’s breakdowns):
– More than half are between 18 and 39 years old. After each vote, a discussion “why young people did not vote” begins in our country. This time it is not so – the young people went to the ballot box. And the result is that from the afternoon of April 4 until the end of election day, the ITN result was constantly growing.
Among generations Y and Z – 18-29-year-olds “There is such a people” is the first force with nearly 29%.
– Many students, quite a few working, few retirees. Among students, ITN is the first force with nearly 29% (for GERB they are twice less – 13.6%). Among the working ITN is a second force with 18.4%. The party won the vote of only 8.4% of retirees.
Half of all “There is such a nation” voters live in the district cities. In Sofia they lost as a result of GERB and DB, but especially in the capital’s 25th MIR they have more votes than DB. Only 1 in 10 votes for them comes from the village.
It is a fact that the voters of “There is such a people” as well as of the DB have a large share of the electorate from the young educated urban class. Which rests most in the summer at sea. This leads to the conclusion that new elections in July will melt the biggest chunk of that electorate.
30% of those who voted for Trifonov in this vote in the previous elections have voted for GERB and only 9% for BSP, and 20% did not vote in 2017. 60% of those who voted for “There is such a people” decided to do so before the campaign, and 40% during the campaign, of which 40% slightly more half – in the last few days.
– Slight predominance of women: 55% of ITN voters are of the fairer sex, 45% are men.
– Every 10th vote is from a Bulgarian abroad. “There is such a people” gathered the largest vote abroad, including from Greece, Spain, Germany, Britain, the United States – a total of 52,000 votes.
