After a long weakening, Slavia’s footballers drew 0-0 in the 25th round of Fortuna: League in Brno. The Prague team played from the 18th minute without the excluded goalkeeper Matyáš Vágner, but they kept a clean sheet and broke their own record in the number of matches of the highest competition without defeat. Defenders of the title in the league have already scored in 37 consecutive matches.
Red and white are the only ones in the league season to continue invincible and lead the table by 14 points ahead of the second Sparta, which has two good matches.
In the next round of Slavism, a home derby awaits with the Letna rival, before that they will play the opening duel of the quarterfinals of the European League on Arsenal on Thursday.
The Brno newcomer was the first team in the season to achieve a red and white turn for points in both mutual matches, in the autumn they drew 1: 1 in Eden. However, Zbrojovka has not won eight laps and is losing four points to 15th Mladá Boleslav on the first descent.
Slavic coach Trpišovský made several line-up changes before the match in London. After returning from the national team, Bořil was given time off, and another defender of Kúdel, who has an injured nose and high fevers, was missing. He did not let the disciplinary punishment into the match Simu and only remained Stanciu on the bench.
Slavia, who suffered one of only four points with Brno in the previous course of the league season, had the first big chance in the ninth minute. Bah wanted to pass Kucht in front of an empty goal, but the ball was deflected by the returning Hlavica.
Eighteen-year-old Vágner entered the competition match for the third time in the Slavic goal due to the injury of number one Kolář, but he lasted only 18 minutes between the poles. He knocked down the escaping Hladík outside the penalty area, the referee Orel first showed him a yellow card, but after the intervention of the video referee and a review of the situation, he expelled him. As in the last round with Opava, the red and whites had to play by ten in the introductory part of the first half.
Instead of Vágner, the 35-year-old veteran Kovář stood between the poles for the first time in the season and in the 27th minute he was lucky when Hladík only hit the defender instead of an open goal. On the other hand, he stretched former Slavist goalkeeper Berkovec Provod.
In the 31st minute, Pachlopník stretched in front of Kovář, but the visiting goalkeeper reduced the angle well. The midfielder was pushed at the end, but the penalty was not whistled. Judge Orel did not order a penalty kick even 10 minutes after the break, when Hladík fell after a fight with Kačaraba.
In the 57th minute, the healed Slavist Ševčík got on the lawn, who started in the league for the first time since December. After less than an hour of play, Čermák stretched out from behind the lime and the visiting goalkeeper Kovář scrambled for the corner.
In the 73rd minute, the home team Čermák hit the area of Zim’s face in his own lime, but the referee Orel did not whistle after the review of the situation from the penalty record. He didn’t have to break his penalty even after 89 minutes, but the home side’s defense held their position and stopped the attack.
Slavia did not score for the first time in the league season, but still improved the record in invincibility from 2016 to 2017, which it reached even under the previous coach Šilhavý.
