His team started at Hané with a starting line-up that did not contain a single player from the one that took to the pitch in Eden on Sunday. In addition, some supports remained at home. “The boys treated their wounds, we let others rest. So others got the opportunity. Even so, today’s duel was a bit scary for us. It is not easy to quickly reorient to a relatively unknown, weaker opponent on paper. We dealt with it and that’s the main thing,” he reveled.

From the beginning, the team from Prague was better, but for a long time they could not make a breakthrough against the carefully defending home team. Only Jurásk succeeded in the 35th minute, when he took advantage of Kačaraba’s accurate pass. In the 56th minute, Chytil added the second goal. But whoever expected that a cannonade of guests would come after that, was wrong. The home team continued to defend honestly and in the 66th minute they even came close to reducing the score. However, Kolář pulled Cupák’s header onto the crossbar after a corner kick with a fantastic save. And because his teammates and Hanáci were no longer accurate in the end, the score did not change.
“I think we pretty much controlled it. Many of us were able to show up after a long time. We fought for a place in the starting line-up and on the bench, and it looked like that,” said Tecl, who started in the fall for the first time ever.
“We had a hard time against such a quality opponent. That’s also why we didn’t make much progress. We didn’t have the courage or strength to do that. However, we played it with honor and an acceptable result. It’s just a shame that we didn’t get that one goal there. It would be the icing on the cake,” said home coach Bronislav Červenka, adding that he was probably the only one who did not enjoy the great duel as he should have. “The whole time I was thinking about the match with Vlaším, which we are playing here in the second league on Saturday. It is extremely important for us, crucial,” he explained.
His players, on the other hand, were excited about the duel with an attractive opponent. “It exceeded our expectations. I thought that the biggest match for me would be the one we played here thirteen years ago also in the cup with Mladá Boleslav, and the attendance was a little lower. Today, however, he overcame that,” said Hanácka Slavia captain Tomáš Matoušek.
He was not disappointed by the result either. “We won a beautiful result. They have great players, the difference is clearly visible. Of course, it would have been nicer if it ended 2:1, but never mind. I really enjoyed it, even though I had two nights before the match and now I’m waiting for a third,” laughed the fighter, who, although he plays in the second league, works for the republican police.
