“Matěj made a huge progress in the last season. We are very happy that we have a great Slavist in the team, who will also be helped in acclimatization by the knowledge of the environment and the coaches who will further develop his potential,” said Slavia sports director Jiří Bílek.

Valenta is a member of the Vršovice club, in whose jersey he made his debut in the top competition in August 2018. After that, he was a guest in the second league Ústí nad Labem and the year before last he transferred to České Budějovice. Part of the agreement was a buyback clause on more favorable terms, which Slavia has now used. The Czech youth representative has 41 starts and two goals in the league.

“My dream came true. I’ve always wanted to come back, I’ve been a celebrity since I was young. I worked hard to make it happen. It’s great that it’s happening after two years. I didn’t expect it so quickly, probably no one. I still can’t do it completely believe,” said Valenta. “Two seasons in Budějovice gave my life and career a lot. Now I’m looking forward to what awaits me here. I want to win trophies and titles,” he added.
