At this time, the situation in the National Assembly is completely different than it was in the previous parliament. It’s more chaotic. The collapse of the DPS creates a rather difficult situation. GERD takes some time to settle down. It was seen that these elections were a real blow, the whole society is focused on the secret vote, the relationship between the two main partners has changed – PP-DB is now a small party . Against this background, GERB is waiting before starting negotiations. This was said by the political scientist Prof. Rumyana Kolarova in the program “Face to Face” on bTV, announced by novini.bg
Political scientist Slavi Vasilev said that if this is a strategy, it shows how broken the situation is in the National Assembly. “What is happening in the National Assembly is not like a parliament. We can see that the political puzzle seems to be stuck. The president has the key. Without being involved in the political process at the party level, we look at the same thing. Even if a government is formed, it will be very unstable. Whatever happens, it seems that Mr. Peevski is alone. He can no longer run the backstage,” he explained.
“Looks like the president, the only thing he can do is stabilize the BSP. If he intervenes, he could restore part of the status quo, he will not bring anything new,” Prof. Kolarova believes.
“For me, the big question is how he will get on with the BSP. If he leads a wider coalition and unites with the BSP, a left bloc can be formed, but it could also be a competition of the BSP. I don’t think he’ll win much, we’ve already played that,” she said.
“Left and right is more of a difference that has seen its time. There is a nationalist who fights for the national interest and the president is the one who would lead it. The president has a lot of support in society and cannot even be compared to one Parvanov, for example. Radev is a symbol of lost sovereignty,” said Slavi Vasilev.
“What you are saying is inappropriate. Radev shows Kornelia Ninova’s famous attempt to connect the leftist opinion with a nationalist tendency,” said Kolarova.
Vassilev announced that the last elections were the worst organized so far. “We still live under the leadership of Prime Minister Glavchev. While politicians are fighting in the front row, the country is sinking,” he warned.
“In this election we saw what was seen in the previous ones, but this time the people said they would not accept this anymore. It’s time to have counting centers,” said Kolarova.
