TOKYO – Indonesian women’s singles mainstay, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung qualify for badminton knockout phase Tokyo 2020 Olympics after coming out as the winner of Group M. This certainty was obtained after Gregoria Mariska defeated the Belgian representative, Lianne Tan, with a score of 21-11 and 21-17 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza, Wednesday (28/7/2021) morning WIB.
Gregoria Mariska started the first game with a bit of difficulty. In the first interval Gregoria had fallen behind several times. However, the aggressive game shown by Gregoria Mariska was able to make Lianne Tan difficult.
As a result, Gregoria managed to win in the first interval of the first game with the score far adrift of 11-6. Then, in the second interval of the first set, Gregoria did not relax his attack and managed to maintain his position.
In the end, Gregoria managed to win in the first game with a score of 21-11. Continuing in the second game, at the beginning of the game the Belgian representatives made several mistakes by returning the balls of responsibility.
Therefore, Gregoria took advantage of the opportunity well and made the game in the first interval dominated by representatives of Indonesia. As a result, Gregoria was far ahead in the first interval of the second game with a score of 11-6 over Lianne Tan.
