Slap to Moraschini, this is how Livorno avoided disqualification

Do you remember the slap – the classic “coppino” – given to Moraschini by a Libertas Livorno fan while the Cantù player was about to take a throw-in? The sports judge disqualified PalaMacchia for two rounds, Libertas scolded the fan, who was identified and summoned to the venue. But the news is that, by magic, the Livorno camp will not serve any disqualification. Libertas in fact lodged an appeal, which was partially accepted. Objective achieved: the pitch disqualification was halved, from two to one matchday, the regulation allows clubs to convert the disqualification into a financial penalty.

Incredible? Yes, but not completely. Because the “original sin” lies in the initial disqualification. Because a small discount of one day has already been applied due to the “subtle” nature of the slap given to Moraschini.

If the disqualification had been three days, Livorno could have obtained a maximum reduction of two days, without therefore being able to pay.

For Livorno, it’s a nice sigh of relief. He will not play a single match on a neutral pitch – he would have been obliged to find a sports hall at least 100 km from the capital – and will therefore regularly face Cividale at home on 6 November and Pesaro on the 13th.
