The eWinner 1.LŻ was to be a huge hit, between the local Cellfast Wilki Krosno and Stelmet Falubaz Zielona Góra, and a scandal, farce and embarrassment emerged. Instead of the speedway, the fans could only admire the screwdriver driven into the track by the judge.
The beers were brewed by Wolves, it is obvious. They prepared a track that, according to the judge and the competition jury, was not statutory, either eight or two hours before the match, or later. Instead of “concrete” the track after Friday’s game with Abramczyk Polonia Bydgoszcz, where it already smelled like scandal, they combined and the effect was terrible.
On the other hand, was it so difficult for an experienced judge like Jerzy Najwer and an even more experienced chairman of the jury, Zbigniew Kuśnierski, to make a male decision and cancel the match before the fans entered the stadium? They would spare everyone the circus and save some prestige of a discipline that cannot run even one season without some gross scandal.
What were they expecting? It was obvious, after all, that the criticized Falubaz after each match, about which there were even rumors about nervous movements in the form of changes in the training staff, would use the opportunity and do everything not to go to this match. A 40-0 win will surely strengthen the position of the coaching staff now, and that it will be a forfeit? Not important. The gesture of the team manager from Zielona Góra, Marek Mróz, who, leaving the competition office, raised his thumb up eloquently, showed it clearly.
The rules were on their side. Since the track was illegal, they did not even have to go to the track test, which was ultimately not reached by the jury’s decision. But showing any joy in this case was extremely inappropriate. I will put it harder, it was embarrassing! The manager might as well dance the cancan or have the players open their champagnes.
It is a pity for the latter, both from Krosno and Zielona Góra. Everyone on Sundays wiped their mouths with them, taking care of their safety, and in fact no one even asked them for their opinion on this matter. As Krzysztof Buczkowski said on Radio Zielona Góra, they knew the track only from stories, because no one let them in. The player of the other team, Tobiasz Musielak, spoke in a similar tone
It is absurd that the speedway riders who know best whether it is possible to get on the motorbikes and ride, could not even speak about it.
The day after the great speedway festival at PGE Narodowy, we woke up in the gray reality of the league, where sports, players and fans are in distant places, and the regulation tricks and particular interests come to the fore.
And the thumbs up, for which manager Mróz should publicly apologize, is their best symbol. Such behavior gives rise to the worst emotions straight from football stadiums, from which speedway can and should be free.
Once the president, Robert Dowhan, pushed Falubaz to the salons, the stadium was visited by celebrities, and the “magic of Falubaz” was enchanted by half-sports Poland. Yesterday, the “magic of Falubaz” was contained in one finger. For both, success at any cost counted. It is sad.
