Slovakia played its sixth match today at the World Hockey Championships. After losing 1: 3 to Sweden, Denik N spoke to three experts and asked six questions.
Ladislav Nagy, Martin Cibák and Branislav Rapáč answered.
Questions:
1. Were you surprised that 24-year-old Adam Húska entered the gate and how do you evaluate his championship debut?
2. Juraj Slafkovský is extremely active, but he can’t score. What is he missing?
3. How do you evaluate that Pavol Skalický went to the tournament, which we knew would not play the last match of the group, which can be decisive in the game for promotion?
4. Were the Slovak hockey players too passive at the beginning of the third period or were the Swedes pushed to do so and had no choice?
5. What decided today’s match?
6. Who do you think was the best player of the Slovak team?
1. Were you surprised that 24-year-old Adam Húska entered the gate and how do you evaluate his championship debut?
Ladislav Nagy
former forward, played more than a hundred matches in the Slovak national team and won a gold and a bronze medal with her at the World Championships
It didn’t surprise me. Hudi (Július Hudáček, pozn. red.) wanted to rest a bit, because he had a lot going on lately, especially against the Swiss and most recently against the Danes. Húska only confirmed that he deserves a place in the national team and supported our team. He captured excellently.
Martin Cibák
a former NHL player who won the Stanley Cup for Tampa in 2004; played 45 matches for the national team
It didn’t surprise me, because we know how fast the matches go. We knew it was Julo, too [Hudáček] he needs a break and the coach probably plans to put him in the last match of the group against the Czechs. This decision was perfectly fine. Before Adam Húska’s debut, you have to put your hat down. He gave an excellent performance and was really a pillar, we can only praise him.
Branislav Rapáč
forward, worked in Slovana Bratislava last season, played 6 matches for the national team
It surprised me a bit, as Julo caught a great match [proti Dánom] and against the Swedes it was an important duel. In front of Adam, however, his hat was down, he caught an excellent match, he couldn’t do it at all, he had excellent interventions and he left peace. Super premiere, it’s a shame it’s not a winner.
2. Juraj Slafkovský is extremely active, but he can’t score. What is he missing?
