Well if I have noticed something, it is how difficult it is to get someone over the phone by working from home. If it works it is beautiful, it does not work you really get nowhere. Someone who is not open to a signal from something like Teams is also likely to let go of the phone (no matter how fascinatingly compelling and prominent the place of that resource in our culture).

A message to a direct colleague? I think Teams is ideal for this. A short interaction takes less time than a phone call, as few words are needed. Bonuses are the message history for the necessary frame of reference and the fact that the message is parked until the recipient has time to reply.

I still find mail the most suitable for more formal communication, also to people outside direct colleagues.

By the way, about that phone. I catch myself that the dominance of the telephone as a means of communication, even that, takes precedence gets got on a live call, which is waning. In my work I see more and more people who more easily push a bell away in favor of what they are doing at the time. Does anyone recognize this or what I see is very work environment specific. It is possible that due to the divided attention to the other means of communication, the telephone is pushed somewhat into the background.
