I don’t say that either (but actually rarely :+ I’m going to get that 99,999) redundant system configuration, is practically 100% uptime.

it’s about the dependence on 3rd parties where you as an organization place trust, ‘make it dependent’ for business processes, all intermediaries and links that may have or are an issue.
Let alone needing support and support, the language and time zones that cause delays.
Haven’t even talked about financial picture yet; if the party decides to raise rates for the umpteenth time, it’s hard to swallow. And what happens to your data and information flow?

Turn your local; are YOU in charge, do you know what happens to YOUR data, and are there little/no hidden costs or increases or other surprises because a 3rd party relies on another 3rd party that has interference….

seen often in the past period; service y has a malfunction, you have nothing to do with it, but product x which does purchase at service y suddenly no longer works (cloud flair or something)

not your server – but your problem!

//edit; don’t say cloud is ‘wrong, or not good’, but for crucial parts I would never choose it myself. But hey, quality is what you pay for * himlims_ runs :+
