Skyscraper moves without explanation and generates panic in China

The SEG Plaza skyscraper, located in the city of Shenzhen, China, caused moments of panic among people moving on the streets, after it began to move for no apparent reason, in a strange event captured by dozens of cameras.

Quickly, the video of the building of around 300 meters high went viral and showed the terror suffered by some of the passers-by when they noticed how the construction oscillated, to the disbelief of the witnesses. In the images that were shared on social networks, the crowd is seen running to get away from the skyscraper, for fear of a possible collapse.

Hundreds of people ran, while other brave people remained in the area to record the shocking moment with their phones. Fortunately, the event was a scare, after no damage to the building or people injured were reported.

According to the official newspaper of the Committee of the Communist Party, in information that CNN, about 15,000 people were inside the SEG Plaza and the authorities took approximately 90 minutes to evacuate each of them.

For its part, the news agency Sputnik He detailed that the Shenzhen emergency management office reported, on the Weibo social network, that it is investigating the causes that caused this strange movement. Likewise, he confirmed that there is no record of any tremor in the area, so this was ruled out as the origin of this event.

SEG Plaza was completed in 2000 and is the 18th tallest building in the city of Shenzhen. This skyscraper is located in the Huaqiangbei area, which is home to the largest technology market in the world, and is home to different technology companies and several shopping malls.

Since last year, China prohibited the construction of constructions above 500 meters in height, due to their high costs, security risks and complexity to erect them, in a measure that was applauded by several engineering experts.
