Trainer Thailand U-19 National Team Salvador Valero Garcia praises the player’s performance Indonesian U-19 National Team when the meeting of the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw in AFF U-19 CupWednesday (6/7).
Thailand received a barrage of attacks from Indonesia in the first round. However, the hosts’ efforts were fruitless.
According to Garcia, Thailand has a slick defensive line quality to block Indonesia’s onslaught. But it also encountered difficulties when looking for opportunities.

“In the first half we were good in defence. But after having Ferrari in defence [Indonesia] it also makes it difficult for us to score points,” said Garcia.
The Spanish tactician also appreciated the placement of Indonesian players in their respective posts. For him it made it difficult for the War Elephant team to find loopholes.
“They are great in maintaining position especially when corners and free kicks. Our passes were not so good when they kept their positions. I think they are confident because they won the previous game,” he said.
The draw brought Thailand into second place in Group A standings with 7 points. They will face Brunei Darussalam on Friday (8/7) and Vietnam on Sunday (10/7).
Responding to the next match, Garcia hopes to make sure to qualify for the semifinals against Vietnam.
“I hope to win against Vietnam [di laga terakhir]. We are wary of Indonesia in the last two matches,” he said.
