To be precise, the southern part of the country will receive a daily price of NOK 1.36 per kWh, while the northern price areas will have to pay NOK 1.37.
This is without online rent, fees and VAT. If you take that into account, the average electricity price is NOK 2.11 per kWh and the peak, which is between 6 and 7 p.m. when many people cook dinner, NOK 2.54.
With electricity support, the price for the “taco hour” will be NOK 1.41 in large parts of the country, VG’s electricity special shows. Northern Norway is known to be exempt from VAT on electricity for households, so here the figure is somewhat lower.
And it is not just south of Dovre that prices have skyrocketed. On Thursday, the spot price passed NOK 2/kWh at its highest – also in the north, reports say Europower and adds that also on this day the prices were almost identical across the country.
The spot price throughout Norway will be more than 300 percent more expensive on Friday than it was in the same week in the period 2013–2019. In Northern Norway, tomorrow’s spot price will be 337 per cent higher, VG’s electricity special shows.
NVE’s weekly water reservoir statistics show that the degree of filling in Norway last week fell below normal levels after the degree of filling in recent weeks has remained well above what is normal.
