Sky Deutschland’s Streaming Provider Wow Increases Subscription Costs for Bundesliga Fans

Many Bundesliga fans will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets in the future: streaming provider Wow, which is part of Sky Deutschland, is increasing its subscription costs for the live sports offering.

So if you want to continue to follow the top Bundesliga game on Saturday evening (again LIVE in the SPORT1 ticker from January 13th) or the traditional conference on Saturday afternoon via stream in the future, the subscription will cost 35.99 euros per month from mid-February instead of 29.99 euros.

However, according to the broadcaster, this only applies to new customers. Existing subscriptions will continue to run under the contractually guaranteed conditions and will only be adapted to the new payment model after expiry when they are automatically extended.

The broadcaster shared the following reason on its own website in the help section to justify the price increase: “We know that price increases are never welcome. Nevertheless, like many other companies, we are confronted with external cost pressure.”

In addition, existing customers will not be granted a special right of termination, as all paying users will be informed of the increase in good time by email from January 4th.
