Skûtsje capsized with sixteen passengers on Eemmeer | Inland

Initially it was said that the capsized ship was a botter, but later the KNRM and the harbor master of Watersports Association De Eendracht reported that it was a skûtsje. The ship took part in the Zuidwal boat competition. The harbor master said that it is the first time that skûtsjes participate in this race. Previously it was only botters. According to the harbor master, the ship capsized because of the wind.

A Rijkswaterstaat vessel and a private salvage company tried unsuccessfully to salvage the skûtsje. Rijkswaterstaat then marked the wreck. Later, another attempt is made to salvage the boat.
