Skullcandy Indy has finally got noise reduction, and is of course called Indy ANC. They also have ambient sound, which they call Ambient Mode. If you have any of these activated, you get a stated playing time of 5 hours in the plugs and 13 hours from the case, while in off mode they last 9 hours, with 23 hours extra. Not the best in the class, but far from the worst.
Great sound for the price
Skullcandy Dime are small and sleek earplugs, with a case that takes up little space in the pocket. Good sound it is and, but the battery is another story.

The plugs have rubber wings, which make them easy to fish out of the case, and also that they fit well in the ear. But even if they then also look like they are made to train with, they have no IP certification. In other words, they do not guarantee water or dust tightness of any kind, so be careful with long sweats and rain.
Pairing is done by opening the case, see that both plugs light up red. Take them out and put them in, a voice says «Noise cancelling on»then «pairing» through the left plug. Then you will find the plugins in the Bluetooth list on your mobile.
Indy ANC is supported by the Skullcandy app, where you can enable and disable noise reduction and ambient noise. Here you can also customize the sound between three preset modes: Movie, Music and Podcast. However, you can not set the sound yourself.
The sound of Skullcandy Indy ANC
The noise reduction cancels low frequencies efficiently enough, and makes the trip by plane or train more comfortable. High noise frequencies, on the other hand, get through easily. The plugs have audible own noise, more than usual. But no crisis. Ambient sound is well let through in Ambient modethis one jerks well.
The music sounds bass heavy, which is tough to listen to when Tiesto is playing at a party, and it is also good with energy in the treble. The cymbals come through, in other words.
The midrange, on the other hand, is quite restrained, and vocals pick up a little too much of the bass that has escaped through the pop filter in the recording studio.
Big drums sound hefty and tough, but had deserved a little more from their upper register to sound believable. The bass is simply a little too much, and often sticks out too much in the mix.
The speech quality is good, the voice comes through clearly, this also applies with 70 dB pinknoise in the background. So these plugins you can safely use for mobile calls and video conferencing.
NB! The right earplug eventually stopped working with us, the light has gone out and we have not succeeded in bringing it back to life. For this, we must pay attention to quality impressions.
