Skull & Bones Review: Was it Worth the 11 Year Wait?

Ship ahoy! In this Premium review we are going to talk about, yes, the long-awaited game Skull & Bones from Ubisoft. A pirate game that, let’s face it, has been in development for 11 whole years, or rather, in development hell. What have they been up to in those eleven years? Was it a new Assassin’s Creed Black Flag or do you just cruise around the game and do some navel combat every now and then? Could you walk around on land with your own character or were you stuck on your ship? In other words, is Skull & Bones the pearl from the sea that we have had to wait 11 years for? Or is it repetitive as f… and not up to much? Boris, Jelle and Jasper are on board to share their experiences about the game.

Skull & Bones review: What can you do as Redbeard?

In Skull & Bones, you explore the world by piloting your ship and battling pirate hunters, deadly sea monsters, unpredictable weather and dangerous waves. You can build and pilot up to 10 different ships, each with unique benefits to suit your playstyle. In this world, your reputation means everything. As a pirate, your evilness grows as you carry out various assignments for traders, local factions and the big boys. In short, it’s all about building your own smuggling empire. And that of course includes intense naval battles. You enter into battle, risking everything for the biggest loot. This way you can arm your ship with powerful weapons and defeat other ships by causing panic at enemy fortresses.

Found the treasure or lost it at sea?

Now that Boris, Jelle and Jasper have taken over the ship, the question is whether they have found the treasure. In other words: was this game worth the 11 year wait or was it Ubisoft Would it be better to release it earlier, or perhaps even cancel it? These 3 guys are in principle not averse to a pirate game, provided it is good. How did they like it? You hear and see it in this video.
