Skoda’s Emerald Green Fleet of Electric Vehicles Mobilizes 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship in Finland and Latvia

Skoda will continue the now 30-year partnership with the Ice Hockey World Championship until at least 2027 and will also be the main sponsor again in Finland and Latvia. The car manufacturer is mobilizing the World Championship there from May 12 to 28 with a fleet of 45 vehicles, the majority of which have electric or plug-in hybrid drives. They all sport the new Emerald Green and Electric Green branding.

Traditionally, the Skoda logo prominently adorns the center circle, the walls of the stands and other places in the arenas. This year, the company is showing its new brand identity. This is expressed in the new image and word mark as well as in the new brand strategy, which are shown in the form of product and brand presentations inside and outside the arenas. In Tampere, the brand will present itself with an Enyaq Coupé RS iV in mamba green and an Enyaq RS iV in phoenix orange. In Riga, spectators can expect an orange Enyaq Coupé Sportline iV in phoenix orange and a green Octavia Combi RS iV. In addition, the electric models are exhibited in so-called Skoda fan zones within the official fan zones.

During the tournament, the car manufacturer also invites you to its Skodaverse. Thanks to virtual 3D reality, fans can also experience some stadium atmosphere there from home. Among other things, there are various games, the possibility of interacting with other users using avatars and an NFT gallery. These non-fungible tokens (non-exchangeable certificates) make up hockey goalie helmets that represent the cultural heritage of each of the 16 participating nations. Another highlight in Skoda’s metaverse is the virtual replica of the fan zone in Tampere. With the start of the tournament, fans will also be able to request unique tokens. They also have the chance to win tickets for the World Cup final on May 28th in Finland in a competition. (awm)
