Four years ago, Skoda introduced the compact Karoq crossover, which quickly gained popularity in Europe and after more than half a million units sold became the brand’s best-selling crossover and the second best-selling model of the Czech Republic in 2020. Earlier today, Skoda unveiled an updated version of the Karoq, which will go on sale in Europe next year and will have the difficult task of continuing the success of the model.
Like the larger Kodiaq, the crossover has got new thinner headlights and a narrower grille, while maintaining the two-level light configuration. The bumper also has a new design and a large opening with two air ducts at both ends.
In addition to visuals, the changes also serve for better air resistance, which is complemented by rims with a specific design and rear bumper. There we also find modified lights with “running” turn signals.
There are almost no changes in the interior, now all models come as standard with digital mileage in front of the driver, and depending on the equipment, its diagonal changes, as well as that of the display in the middle of the dashboard.
Under the hood are well-known engines starting from 1.0-liter gasoline with 110 horsepower and manual transmission and 1.5-liter with 150 horsepower and the possibility of automatic transmission with seven gears. The largest petrol engine is 2000 cc and generates 190 horsepower with four-wheel drive and automatic transmission.
For diesel fans, there is a choice between a 150 and 116-horsepower version of the 2.0 TDI, and the more powerful engine also offers four-wheel drive.
