Škoda tests electric tractors in internal logistics in Mladá Boleslav

Škoda Auto is testing two electric tractors at its main production plant in Mladá Boleslav, which are used in in-house transport. More electric trucks will follow.

The Czech carmaker plans to save 60 tons of CO in this way compared to trucks equipped with a diesel engine2 annually. The company stated this in a press release.

The company has been using two electric tractors at the main plant since October 1. “After the successful trial operation of both purely electric tractors within the in-house fleet, we are gradually moving to purely electric trucks. We also want to give impetus to our local suppliers. In the medium term, we plan to ensure that all components supplied by trucks from the immediate area of our plants, they will reach our production lines with zero local emissions, “said Michael Oeljeklaus, a member of the Škoda Auto Board of Directors.
