Skoda UK has a fleet of cars with performance worthy of a BMW M3, but looking as normal as possible. The unique Superb was built to celebrate the success of the model over the years.
The Skoda Superb is one of the most amazing and hidden cars you can meet on the street. It was never a performance model, although the older generation also offered a 280 hp petrol engine and all-wheel drive.
That car could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, by sleepy very interesting. But Skoda’s UK division wasn’t satisfied with just that. Therefore, they turned to the experts from RE Performance, the same ones who prepared the Skoda Octavia, which set a speed record in 2011. The car reached 365 km/h on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The guys from RE Performance took a Skoda Superb breakcar equipped with a 2.0 liter engine and 280 HP. It is mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, plus it gets all-wheel drive.
The car received a larger turbine, and RE Performance revised the fuel system, but also the cooling system, to cope with the increased power that the engine has now developed.
Thanks to these changes, the car now develops 477 hp and 661 Nm, which leads us to think that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 5.6 seconds. In addition to the additional power, the suspension was changed, the ground clearance was reduced by 5 cm, and brakes it was replaced with a performance system from AP Racing.
Otherwise, the car is no different from its “donor”, the exterior is unchanged, finished in the shade of Royal Green. Also, the interior preserves upon a top equipment of Laurin & Klement, such as the leather seats, the heated steering wheel or the Canton audio system.
The car will not be sold but will instead join Skoda UK’s press fleet. We’re a little jealous of the journalists who get to drive this special sample.
