The Czech brand Skoda started en masse production of the fourth generation compact hatchback Fabia at the plant in Mlada Boleslav. According to the company’s press service, the car is made on the same assembly line together with the Scala and Kamiq models. For this purpose, the Czechs had to invest 110 million euros in the modernization of production processes.
“Numerous complex and physically demanding production steps are now performed by robots, which has made it possible to achieve a high level of automation of production processes,” says Skoda.
It will be recalled that the fourth Skoda Fabia is built on the MQB-A0 platform. Thanks to this, the new product has increased in size compared to its predecessor, and the volume of the luggage compartment has increased by 50 liters – up to 380 liters.
The drag coefficient of the new car is 0.28. According to Skoda representatives, this is the best aerodynamic figure in this class.
The range of new engines includes two one-liter atmospheric three-cylinder gasoline units with 65 and 80 horsepower. The car will also be available with two compressor engines with the same volume, but with 95 and 110 horsepower.
Top modifications Fabia gets a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 150 horsepower. The list of available electronic assistants includes adaptive cruise control, lane maintenance system, parking assistant and much more.
