Skoda is even more interested in the fourth generation of its FABIA model, publishing the first official design sketches. The popular compact of the Czech car manufacturer will be much larger, more dynamic and more expressive than its successful predecessor.
The transition to the Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0 cross-modular platform has allowed for new proportions and created even more space for passengers and luggage. Additional exciting details include the sharply designed headlights and LED rear light blocks.
The world premiere of the new Skoda Fabia will take place in May this year
The fourth generation will be 111 millimeters longer and 48 millimeters wider than the predecessor model. This is the first time that FABIA has been built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0 cross-modular platform. This increases passenger space and it was also possible to add 50 liters to the boot capacity.
The sketch showing the diagonal front view shows us for the first time the headlights and the wide Skoda grille of the radiator, which has a sporty but elegant look, with a chrome frame and black slats. The large rims in turn accentuate the strong allure of the model.
The elongated aileron has fins and is installed at the ceiling, allowing excellent aerodynamic characteristics, together with aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors and adjustable diaphragm of the air intake in the front bar.
Gasoline engines ensure high fuel efficiency and greater range
Skoda opted for state-of-the-art petrol engines for the fourth generation Fabia. All engines come from the Volkswagen Group’s EVO engine generation and combine high efficiency with low emissions. The new Fabia comes with front-wheel drive, either with a manual gearbox or with a 7-speed DSG automatic. This means that the car is optimally equipped both for trips in the city, but also to cover long distances outside it.
