The third body version of the Mladá Boleslav bestseller is very unlikely, but it wouldn’t look bad at all.
Since time immemorial, Škoda Octavia has been offered in two body styles: liftback and combi. But have you ever wondered what it would look like as a hatchback? At Auto.cz, this idea has not been alien to us for a long time, as we first dealt with it back in 2004, not long after the introduction of the second generation.
It was an April Fool’s joke then, yet his former colleagues paid him due attention. Now, our editorial graphic designer has returned to the Octavia in hatchback design, who has prepared a rather interesting graphic concept for the fourth generation of the Mladá Boleslav bestseller. And it doesn’t look bad at all.
After the B-pillar, there are no significant changes, which start with the shape of the rear door window, pillar and, of course, the modified roof line. A look at the new rear reveals a traditional light signature, the Škoda inscription between the lights, a discreet spoiler extending the roof line and a hint of a diffuser with a pair of accentuated exhaust tips.
As a hatchback, the Octavia doesn’t look bad at all, but at the same time, you can’t help but feel that something is missing. In short, the backpack somehow belongs to Octavia. In addition, it is extremely unlikely that the car manufacturer would ever decide on this body style, because then the Octavia would probably be too approximated the Scala model. However, it would definitely be an interesting alternative to, say, the Golf or the Astra.
