Even though they are SUVs, most Skoda Kodiaq RS and Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid owners will probably never take these cars off-road.
The truth is that none of the mentioned cars are outright off-roaders for demanding conditions, but they still have certain off-road abilities. Mat Watson’s new video from YouTube channel Carwow proves it.
Mat chose these cars for an interesting comparison in several “non-asphalt” disciplines. At the same time, both cars differ from each other in many ways. Both are four-wheel-drive SUVs, but while the Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder with a maximum output of 180kW and a peak torque of 370Nm, the Cayenne E-Hybrid relies on an electrified drivetrain delivering a combined output of 340kW and “torque” 700 Nm.
Of course, the huge difference is also in the price. The top version of the Czech SUV in the Czech Republic starts at 1,399,900 CZK, the Porsche Cayenne in the E-Hybrid version costs at least 2,535,744 CZK in the Czech Republic.
Despite this – or perhaps because of this – Watson chose these cars. And he compared them in several disciplines that were supposed to test their off-road abilities. We won’t reveal the results, play the video instead. You might be surprised by the capabilities of the SUVs listed and the final score.
