The Kvasin plant continues to produce the Kodiaq and Karoq SUV models. Octavia production runs on the same line as the Karoq model.
“Producing additional parts of the Škoda Octavia model at the Kvasin plant allows us to effectively use our flexible production network and fully utilize the plant’s capabilities,” said Andreas Dick, member of the car company’s board for production and logistics.
In connection with the production of the Octavia and the increase in production, the car manufacturer opened a training center in Kvasiny at the beginning of this year at the cost of 25 million crowns. In it, 300 workers should learn about robots and automation every year. This eliminated the travel of mechanics, electricians and electronic technicians from Kvasin to Mladá Boleslav for training.
Last year, Škoda Auto produced 225,000 cars of the Karoq, Kodiaq and Superb models at the plant in Kvasiny, the year before the production was 221,000 cars. So far, Kvasiny produced the most, 320,000 cars, in 2019.
The car plant in Kvasiny employs around 9,000 people, the plant is the largest employer in the Hradec Králové region. Kvasiny should be the plant where Škoda Auto produces cars with combustion engines in the Czech Republic for the longest time.
