Škoda started production of electrified cars in September 2019, when it started production of the plug-in hybrid model Superb iV and electric car Citigoe iV. In September last year, the carmaker introduced its first purely electric model, built on the MEB electric platform, which became the Enyaq iV SUV.
Last year, a total of 35,000 electrified Škoda iV cars were delivered to customers, and on 30 August this year, the Enyaq iV rolled off the production line at the Mladá Boleslav plant, which marked the milestone of 100,000 electrified Škoda iV cars.

However, the range of electrical production of the carmaker does not end there. Škoda Auto also produces high-voltage traction batteries in the Czech Republic, which, in addition to the Octavia and Superb plug-in hybrids, also use other Group plug-in hybrids.
At the beginning of next year, the carmaker plans to start production of batteries for the MEB platform in Mladá Boleslav. In addition, at least three other purely electric Škoda models are also expected to be launched by the end of 2030.

The share of Škoda’s electrified vehicles in Europe is expected to increase to 50 to 70 percent by the end of the decade. In addition, as part of the Next Level strategy – Škoda Strategy 2020, Škoda’s goal is to become one of the five best-selling brands in Europe at the time.
“In less than two years, 100,000 IV cars have been produced – a great start to the electric era. Many thanks to all employees from the factory who deliver our iV vehicles at a high pace and top quality. Further quick steps will now follow: Enyaq iV and the two plug-in hybrid models are just the beginning, ”emphasizes Michael Oeljeklaus, Member of the Board of Management of Škoda Auto for Production and Logistics.
