(Elbil24): Volvo has done it, Volkswagen has done it, Audi has done it, and in the new year Skoda does it too. We’re talking about making a coupe version of a popular, existing electric SUV; in Skoda’s case, it’s Enyaq iV – which is now being created Enyaq Coupe iV.
Popular family car
The Enyaq iV has already been on the market for six months in the usual SUV design, and has managed to become a very popular car in Norway. So far this year, it has been registered in 5,690 copies, which places it in seventh place on the top list in this country.
As is well known, the car is made on the VW Group’s common platform for electric cars, the MEB platform. Skoda Enyaq therefore has a close relative in both the VW ID.4 and Audi Q4 e-tron, which has received coupe versions called ID.5 and Q4 e-tron Sportback.
At the moment, there is a long delivery time on the Enyaq iV, partly due to a lack of components in the market – a problem that most car manufacturers are well aware of at the moment.

World premiere next month
However, that does not stop Skoda from launching the coupe edition, which will have its world premiere on 31 January. In advance, Skoda has already released a teaser in the form of a video, which shows some of the lines (see above).
The manufacturer emphasizes, among other things, that the car has very low air resistance (coefficient of 0.234), which should contribute to improved range.
However, there is reason to believe that the design will not differ much from the concept car Vision IV, which the company also confirms in a press release. That car was seen by Elbil24 already in 2019, and in the video below you get all the details.
