Skoda distanced itself from the video clip of the controversial rapper

A small passenger car of the Mladá Boleslav carmaker appears several times in the video clip of the leading representative of German far-right rap. It is said to symbolize the vehicle of an ordinary person.

“I don’t need a million, all I’m doing is circling here in a fabia. I want us to do well, which is why everyone calls me a radical,” sings a rapper living in Munich.

In a song called simply Fabia, the rapper presents himself as a man of the people. “I never wanted cars or money,” he says. At the same time, however, he emphasizes that he remains a radical, and recalls that the word is derived from the Latin radix, ie the root.

However, the German sales department of the Czech carmaker assured on Twitter that Škoda had nothing to do with Chris Ares and did not even provide the car for the purpose of shooting a video clip.

“Škoda Auto is for openness, tolerance and diversity,” the carmaker emphasized, pointing to the fact that the state office for the protection of the constitution in Bavaria’s largest country, Bavaria, ranks Chris Ares among the far-right identity movements. “We are fundamentally distancing ourselves from any extremist views and attitudes,” writes Škoda Auto.

The Bavarian authorities consider the rapper to be a supporter of the so-called identity movement, which is directed against multiculturalism and is fighting against the alleged loss of identity of European nations due to immigration.
