The Czech company Skoda is breaking its own sales records. The brand’s cars have never been so popular. All thanks to the quite inexpensive crossovers that have flooded the market.
About it tells Motor1. Currently, Skoda crossovers account for about half of the company’s global sales. The automaker managed to join the promising segment in time with the Skoda Yeti model back in 2009.
Since then, customer satisfaction has only grown. The company reported three million crossovers sold worldwide. The main driver of this number is the Kodiaq, which joined the lineup in 2016. It has already sold 841,900 copies.
Now the bestseller is preparing to change generations. The new Skoda Kodiaq 2 will be officially presented in a few weeks. For now, the model continues to be shown with camouflage film on the body so that we cannot see small details. But it is already noticeable that the model will undergo a significant transformation, becoming larger and more brutal in appearance.
Various powerplants are expected: 1.5 liter (150 hp), 2.0 liter (265 hp) petrol engines and 2.0 liter diesel (150 and 193 hp). Also for the first time in the lineup there will be a hybrid Skoda Kodiaq. Such a crossover will be able to travel up to 100 km exclusively on electric power.
OBOZREVATEL has already reported about a cheap electric crossover from China, which received a large power reserve.
