“Škoda Auto’s First-Quarter Operating Profit Rises to €542 Million”

The operating profit of Škoda Auto in the first quarter rose year-on-year from 337 to 542 million euros (CZK 12.7 billion). The parent concern Volkswagen announced this in its results report today. Year-on-year sales also increased, from 5.1 to 6.8 billion euros (CZK 160 billion).

Škoda Auto delivered 209,553 cars to customers in the first quarter, which is 12.6 percent more year-on-year. During the same quarter last year, deliveries to customers amounted to 186,170 cars.

In March, Škoda celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Octavia Combi model. “Over 2.8 million Combi vehicles have been delivered to customers, and today the fourth generation as well as an electric version are being produced,” the concern said.

The modern history of the bestseller Octavia Combi has been written for 25 years, but the roots of this model go back even further.

Škoda Auto operates three production plants in the Czech Republic, it also has production capacities in other countries, for example in China and India. Last year, as a result of the invasion of the Russian troops in Ukraine, it ended its activities on the Russian market and is currently negotiating their sale. Due to the termination of business activities and production in Russia, the car company lost almost 700 million euros last year.
